Crowdsourcing in the Bingo Rooms

I love almost everything about Christmas – except buying gifts. Luckily, my bingo buddies are on the case.

One of the best things about the bingo rooms is the fact that you really can talk about anything with your buddies (except of course the exceptional online bingo bonus you got at another site. That would be rude.)

I get terribly excited at Christmastime; the decorations, the food, the carols. Who cares that mistletoe is actually poisonous, or that at any other time tinsel would be considered garish? Who cares that eggnog is a disgusting concept or that you’ll need to be on a diet from now until next December in order to atone for your sins? It’s Christmas, and that’s what matters.

There’s just one thing that can ruin the most bright-eyed and bushy-tailed of Christmas enthusiasts; that has the power to crush your soul and make you weep into your keyboard. I am of course talking about the dreaded activity of Christmas shopping.

Who knew that Aunt Martha considers the colour red to be offensive, or that salt and pepper shakers were an entirely inappropriate gift for Uncle Fred, who is allergic to pepper and has kidney problems? Who knew that if you wanted to order a camera part for your photographer boyfriend you would have to have placed your order in 1994, before the part was actually invented? Honestly, it’s enough to make you want to give it all up and head back to your bingo games for some relaxing simplicity.

Luckily, as soon as I did that I realised that my bingo buddies were a valuable source of information. Within seconds of expressing my despair, they collected the relevant specifications (‘What does she eat? Is she diabetic? Does he watch TV shows?’ etc, etc) and then started throwing ideas at me as fast as they could. They even gave me the best sites to buy at AND told me where I could get free and fast shipping. I had my shopping sorted online by that afternoon.

So cheers, community! Bingo sites – they’re not just all about the online bingo bonus!
