Manchester City go top of the English Premier League beating Tottenham Hot Spurs 5-1 at White Hart Lane.

Sports betting fans of the Manchester club will be hoping that Pellegrini’s team can hold on to the lead for the rest of the season and win the title in style. City now have 53 points, one point clear of Arsenal and two points clear of Chelsea, after twenty three games into the campaign. Wenger and Mourinho are still all in with a chance, but the worry aspect as far as they are concerned would be the ease at which they crushed the North London club at home.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for Manchester City in the fifteenth minute of the match. The striker has now managed to score fifty Premier League goals in only 81 matches, which makes him the fifth fastest player to make it to the fifty mark. In fact the opening goal showed the intent of the player, and throughout the game it was just impossible for Spurs to be able to contain Sergio. The Argentinian was a constant threat and should have scored more, if it were not for the skill of Lloris in the Spurs goal.

Tim Sherwood, Tottenham Hot Spurs Manager admitted that Manchester City are ‘the best team on the planet’ and that Spurs have undoubtedly ‘played the champions’. Tim would not be far off the mark in his assessment, as Spurs are no push over, with them only dropping two in the last 18 coming into the game. Spurs fans would be all expecting their team to be looking at a top four finish, and for City to out-play the North London club with such ease, just reflects the class and talent of Manuel Pellegrini’s players.

Manchester City face Chelsea on Monday night with Jose Mourinho hoping that he can make up for the two points dropped against West Ham as both teams failed to score. With Arsenal coming up against Crystal palace on Sunday, Mourinho will be expecting the Gunners to get their three points, which means Chelsea will need the win to ensure they keep the pressure on, in an effort to win the Premier League title.
