With all the transfer speculation and lack of ‘big name’ strikers for established clubs to aim at as the end transfer window draws closer and closer, Tottenham have gone with the smart move of starting talks with Gareth Bale on yet another new contract, even though they only just signed a new deal at the start of last season!

The North London club is insisting that Gareth is going nowhere, but this is in the midst of constant rumours of moves to Real Madrid, statements in Spain of terms being agreed with the 24 year old and from his agent, Jonathan Barnett. Anyone looking to be betting online on this market will realise that the bookies believe that the Wales International will stay.

Gareth Bale is currently under contract to stay until 2016 with Spurs, and the player scored a massive 26 goals for the club last season. The top it all off, the player was awarded the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards last season, and is most definitely one of the hottest properties in the world of football. Andre Villas-Boas has always stated his intent to keep the player and on many occasion confirmed that Tottenham will not be selling the player.

Bale has proven to be an invaluable asset for Tottenham last season, and with recent signings like Nacer Chadli, Paulinho, and Jan Vertonghen, there are massive expectations that Tottenham Hot Spurs will be able to break into the top four of the English Premier League and Champions League football. We all have seen the heartbreak and despair of the last two seasons and how close the club was to giving their fans and supporters Champions League football, so with any luck this season will be different!
