Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale scores on debut

Ex Tottenham star Gareth Bale scored on his debut appearance for Real Madrid, in a game against Villarreal which ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Wales striker started the game and scored in the 38th minute to level the match as Cani scored first to take Villarreal into the lead. The 24 year old will be relieved to be off to a flying start as the pressure will be on to prove that he is indeed worth 100 million euros. Plus, it is no secret that in football, playing at the highest level requires results and expectations are high from both the club and the supporters. There is no doubt that punters betting online for Gareth to score on his debut will be laughing all the way to the bank!

Cristiano Ronaldo also scored, to take Real Madrid into the lead, but Giovani Dos Santos brought the two sides level in the 70th minute and that’s how the score line remained till the end. It was a good start to Bale’s career at Real Madrid, as the manager Carlo Ancelotti decided to place the Welsh striker on the right wing. Real Madrid will now have an awesome strike force of Bale, Ronaldo and Isco; with the fans expecting fireworks when these three get accustomed to each other.

Gareth has not played a full game since his foot injury, but this has been the longest he has been on the pitch in a competitive game since playing for 32 minutes against Serbia for Wales. The young man started comfortably for Real Madrid and nearly give them one of trade long range goals, but his shot just whizzed over the bar. In the end, he managed to score from a pull back by Daniel Carvajal, and it will make sure that some of the pressure is released so that the new signing can concentrate on his football and getting used to the style of play used by Ancelotti. More goals to come for sure!
